Strife at Karak Sakor

“What you need to do is get the fuck out. You're both getting in my way and should leave while I finish this.

-Tocktact to all nearby dwarves, moments before being ambushed

After the Lakota cease fire, King Shakomatic of the Dwarves declared the eastern island, then split to the north and south as Krieg Island, to be Breshik territory, as originally claimed from Kurwa before the discovery of the Lakota. This provoked the Lakota, which had grown into an agrarian level society, to once again mobilize in response to outward bases being constructed along the eastern border of the Breshikian desert.

Land Raids

Raids were speckled and frequent on Dwarven workers. The Lakota would often wait for a party of dwarves to bring building tools and supplies to a site, and attack while they were unarmed. This usually provoked an armed retaliation to remove the Lakota party from Breshik territory, but the raiding parties had usually left quickly after pillaging. On few occasions, Breshik made heavy retaliation on Lakota raiding parties quickly enough that they stripped the Lakota of their weaons, forcing the tribes to go into hiding temporarily to gather strength and strike back. On the whole, however, dwarven supply chains were adequately disrupted, and building came to a relative standstill.

Ambassador's Appointment

After the failed ambassadorship of Tocktact, another dwarf was appointed the position, to trade goods back to the Tribes in exchange for goods looted from them. Negotiations once agained turned sour, however, and the Lakotians left without returning any items, claiming they had been lost anyway. Items lost to the Breshik dwarves included a stack of orange wool and a saddle, which was to be exchanged for a diamond pick and armor from fallen Lakota soldiers.

While expanding the central city outside the dwarven keep, Tocktact, a high ranking, founding father Breshik dwarf, ordered his compatriots from his side to gain solitude in the construction of his home. Mutestory, seeing this from the forest above the valley surrounding Karak Sakor, called in Sick_Sector to ensure a successful kill of the lone dwarf. After surprising Tocktact while running down the (then incomplete) Dwarven Highway, the tribesmen looted 4 diamond tools of each type, and stacks of clay and stone. This would be the highest costing raid for the dwarves yet, and would lead to the immediate counter-attack in the Black Hills Expedition.
